At Ash's Place, we are an organisation that strives to be the best we can be. We have carried out academic research about the impact of therapy dogs in education settings and we are currently working towards further research about adult safeguarding. We are keen to work with partners to support with research needs where we have the skills and expertise as an independent social worker.

Sumayya Hanson is our Director and Principal Independent Social Worker. Sumayya has a career in social work spanning 22 years. She is a Social Worker, a Teacher, a Best Interest Assessor and trained in Parenting Assessments. Sumayya has managed local authority Safeguarding Services, DoLS Services, she's been a Mental Capacity Act Lead & she's taught Social Work too.
